September 29, 2005..."Man, you look just like I feel."

Hey all...I just had to post this crappy, but hilarious picture of my 3 year old son, Bodi. Obviously the combination of Lays chips, and Lego Star Wars on the PS2 was just too much for his little body to take! :)

I'll be sure to post a better one of him in his Spidey costume!
Until next time...

September 21, 2005...Road Trip!

I'm getting excited! This weekend I'm driving 5 hours to Minnesota for a writers workshop...crazy you say? How could it be! When the incomparable Debra Dixon will be giving an intensive one-day session on Goal, Motivation, and Conflict...the glue which holds any story together.
Now, it's not like I haven't read up on these, or that I don't understand them...I just want a weekend without the hubby and kids! :) Just Kidding! Can't wait to see everybody there, and to take notes till carpal tunal kicks in early arthritis! Yeehaw!

September 11...Warning! Halloween costumes are outrageous!

Holy expensive costumes, Batman! Well, Spiderman actually. My son LOVES him. Not only does he try to climb the walls, he actually "webslinged" the doctor at his last appointment. So, my hubby and I should have known that when he saw a muscle chest spidey costume at the store, he would just HAVE to have it. That he would pull out all the stops...from the big, sad puppy dog eyes, to flat out balling. What we did not expect was the $50 dollar price tag once it rang up at the register. $50 bucks for a child's costume! Needless to say, I just bought it on ebay for $24.99...brand new. Still rather pricey, but half the store bought price. Not to mention, the mail man will bring it to me, so I won't even have to get out of my pj's, and I won't have to spend a small fortune on gas, just driving into Madison to buy it.
So, phew...I should feel relief that it's over, that the blasted spidey outfit is on it's way to my home, as I sit and type. But alas, I still have my eight year old daughter to buy for.

Until next time...

September 5, 2005...Camping

Hello all. I just got back from camping with the family over Labor Day weekend. We went to the lake with four other families. The kids had an absolute blast! Running around with a dozen other children, splashing in the lake, and tubing behind the boat...how could they not have fun?

I on the other hand, need to take a nap. :) I swear, being in the sun all day, chasing after a dozen kids, while drinking mass quantities of beer will tucker you out in no time! But, it was our last hurra before fall truly takes over Wisconsin. Something I fear will be happening unfortunately soon...I mean school has already started, Halloween costume shopping is nearly completed...before you know it, we will have to break out the mittens, scarfs and jackets. (Depressing, I know...but true) So, I highly suggest you get out there into the great outdoors, and have all the late summer fun you can, while you can. :)

Until next time...
