Christmas Ride Blog Event!

  • I don't know about you, but nothing gets me into the holiday spirit like a good Christmas movie.
Although "A Christmas Story" is always good for a laugh and "A Wonderful Life" is a classic, my personal favorite would have to be "Home Alone."

There is something about little Kevin McCallister that just speaks to me. A smart, caring, intelligent 8 year old boy who feels overlooked by his busy and harried family, acts out, says things he doesn't mean and has to live with the consequences. Watching him grow, fend for himself, buy groceries, order pizza (oh, and toss paint cans at the bad guys) is just a great ride of a movie.

Now, how about you? What is your favorite Holiday movie?

Those who leave a comment today, telling me their favorite Holiday film, will be entered to receive a digital download of any book from my backlist!

Now, onto the CHRISTMAS RIDE CONTEST RULES!

Collect the songs to enter the grand prize drawing. One lucky person will win a $75 Wild Rose Press gift certificate! All you need to do to enter is attend each day's blog post, identify the carol, and make a complete carol list to submit after the final blog post of Christmas Eve. Don't forget to check the list twice!

    Send it to
    Christmasrideblog@live.com by midnight, CST Dec. 31st 2008!

Now here is the pretty big hint to my song choice for the grand prize. By the way, the song is also featured in a scene from my favorite holiday film mentioned above. :-)

Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet

    Jingle around the clock...

Good luck in the contest!! And if you missed stops or have gotten lost along the way, here are the past blogs where the ride has been spreading Christmas cheer!

Personally I'm addicted to all Christmas movies...though I wait until AFTER Thanksgiving to watch any, the full month of December is filled with them! But my all time favorite, can't live without seeing it once, is White Christmas! There's just something about the musical that gets me in the mood.

And speaking of music, the Christmas Carol of today is Jingle Bell Rock!

OMG, I love holiday movies! My two favorites are "Home for the Holidays" with Holly Hunter. If you have not seen this one you must get it immediately. It is really a Thanksgiving movie but I just love it. How can you go wrong with both Robert Downey, Jr. (hilarious younger brother) and the hottie hot Dylan McDermott!

The other one is "Family Man" with Nicolas Cage. Love love love it! He is so friggin hilarious in this one and it is just a beautiful family movie. I love the diaper changing scene. LOL

Happy Holidays everyone!

The X'mas carol....that's the "Jingle Bell Rock"....

My favorite Holiday movie would be The Muppet Christmas Carol, besides It's a Wonderful Life, of course!

It's a Wonderful Life has to be the best movie ever! I can't stand to miss it even one year!

Thanks for getting me to think about it. Now I have to go to the garage (it's 11 degrees out) and see if I can find my copy!

I would have a very hard time choosing a favorite christmas movie. I love so many. I love the classics, like frosty the snowman, little drummer boy, rudolf the red nose reindeer, and others like that. But then again I like the newer ones too like Boyfriend for christmas, among others. The carol is Jingle Bell Rock.

I love all Holiday movies from the classics to the new ones. I can't wait for Marley and me. I'm reading the book now. Miracle on
34th Street is one of my all time favorites.

Used to wait for It's A Wonderful Life every year. Also Many variations on A Christmas Carol make watching it multiple times entertaining.
